If you were watching N.C. State vs. Villanova on Saturday night (or were on social media right after the game ended), you inevitably saw the piccolo player in Villanova’s band who was crying while playing the school’s fight song after the Wildcats lost in upset fashion. Well, Roxanne Chalifoux was invited to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and she got to play with The Roots.
And, yes, it was pretty awesome.
Chalifoux told Fallon the reaction was “mind-blowing.” All she could think about, she said, was whether her dad saw her crying on TV. “But then it turned into, like, everyone saw me crying,” she joked.
She said she’s been enjoying some of the Internet memes coming out of it. Fallon gave Chalifoux a gift basket, which included two tickets to Taylor Swift‘s world tour.
